Wet Weather And Route Change Delay Rally DA

The organisers of Repco Rally Australia have been delayed in the completion of a Development Application for the September event.

Preparation of the Application has required very detailed consultant reports, including one from an independent environmental consulting company.

While a number of the reports have been received, the environmental report, which has entailed the consultants not only driving over the entire route but also examining in detail areas adjacent to the route, has been delayed.

The delay is due to recent wet weather, which hindered the consultants in performing their inspections, and to the decision by the organisers to remove some roads from the planned route and replace them with alternatives, which also have had to be inspected.

All reports, including those on environmental, dust, noise, waste management and socio-economic impact, will be reviewed by the organisers prior to completion of the DA document.
