Waste Management Plan Q&A

Q: What type of bins will provided at the event?
A: The Rally is being run as a Waste Wise event which means that the amount of waste going to landfill is minimised through recycling and the use of recyclable products. The many waste stations that will be at the stages and the Kingscliff foreshore service park will each consist of two wheelie bins. One wheelie bin will be clearly marked for recyclables such as aluminium and steel cans, plastic drink bottles, paper and cardboard. The other wheelie bin will be for all non-recyclables such as food waste, nappies, plastic bags and wrapping.

Q: How often will the bins be emptied?
A: To ensure the patrons, competitors and visitors can enjoy the rally as a clean, litter-free experience, the waste contractor will be required to empty all bins on a daily basis at a minimum. In addition, we have staff dedicated to monitor the waste stations and they will be authorised to order additional services directly with the waste contractor.

Q: How can I provide feedback or make a complaint if litter is problem?
A: Repco Rally Australia values your feedback as it helps to continually improve the event. Repco Rally Australia staff at the event can be approached directly with reports of litter problems. Staff will have authority to order additional servicing of bins. Feedback or complaint forms will be made available at the event to complete and provide contact information so all feedback can be assessed and acted on as necessary.
