Welcome Repco Rally Australia Officials

Just over three weeks to go – and we’re counting – to all the action of Repco Rally Australia and the excitement of the World Rally Championship.

Here at rally headquarters, we can feel the pressure building but it’s also very exciting to be part of a brand-new event that will carry on Australia’s proud tradition of involvement in this international series.

Rally Australia in WA was consistently ranked by the teams as one of the best events on the world rally calendar and we aim to match that ranking – but we need your help!

Do you want to be involved? Do you want to be working with the best rally drivers in the world? Then be one of our volunteer officials.

If you have already completed and returned an Expression of Interest form but have not yet been contacted to complete the registration process, please don’t do all the paperwork again! Just contact us at the rally office immediately, either via email (info@rallyaustralia.com.au) or phone [(02) 6676 7025] to ensure we have your correct contact details.

Registration closes at 5pm next Monday, August 17, so we need to hear from you in order to get everything happening, or you might miss out.

You might even want to consider encouraging family or friends to sign on too, so you can share the adventure and the excitement. But remember, they must be over 16 years of age.

SIGNING UP A FRIEND?
1. Get them to ring the rally office [(02) 6676 7025] or go to the rally website: www.rallyaustralia.com.au and click on the section for Officials.

2. They need to find the document called Expression of Interest. It can be filled in on-line and lodged that way, or they can print out the PDF, complete it by hand and fax it back on [(02) 6672 8119].

3. If they specifically want to work with you, make sure they mention that when they apply. Otherwise, once their registration is received, it will be reviewed and allocated to a specific area of the rally, which may not be with you. A team leader will contact them directly to discuss their experience and availability.

YOUR ROLE AS AN OFFICIAL
As an official on a world rally championship round, you play a vital role in ensuring this international event runs smoothly and professionally and we appreciate the time you are giving.

You will be provided with a polo shirt/s and a wide brimmed hat to be worn while you are on duty. If you’re working at HQ, you need to wear black trousers or slacks. If you are out in the field, you will need to wear blue jeans and closed shoes.

You will receive an Officials Pass which must be worn when on duty. It also gives you access to the Super Special Stage at Murwillumbah each night and to a remote spectator point, providing you’re not on duty.

The amount of time you will be needed to work depends on the job you are doing, but please be prepared to be available for two or three days during the rally.

Please remember that you will be responsible for your own food and accommodation during the event.

You will receive more information about your duties and responsibilities, and accommodation availability, once the registration process is complete.
